These messages are sent as a courtesy, in addition to written notices to advise of the status of an outstanding matter in your name. The Fines Enforcement Registry may send text and email messages to the mobile number and email address they have for you on record. There are serious consequences for not paying fines and/or infringements in Western Australia including Licence Suspension Orders, deducting money from your bank account or wages (garnishee orders), vehicle immobilisation, number plate removal, seizure and sale of your property, Orders to Attend for Work and Development (court fines) and Magistrates Court Inquiries to determine the appropriate action to be taken to enforce the fine(s). Ignoring your infringements or court fines will not make them go away.
